Hello Art Enthusiasts! I’m Linda Petty, artist & owner of LPettyArt.
A little bit about me - I grew up in a large family in Rockford, IL, & always loved being outside, smitten by the beauty of nature. My favorite classes in school were art & music. I pursued a teaching career & graduated with a music & education degree from Lincoln (IL) Christian University. I married my best friend, Bruce, who took me on a 7-state journey for over 50 years to help him lead in ministry, & we now live in the beauty of Cumming, Georgia. Before starting a family, I enjoyed painting oil landscapes with a palette knife. Now both our children are married, & we have 5 beautiful grandchildren, who are the loves of my life!
Throughout my career, I used my creative artistic skills as a teacher, worship program director, interior designer. Eventually, I became a children’s & adult art instructor. For over 40 years, I created many different pieces of art with inspirational calligraphy, as gifts for ministry volunteers. I’ve always been passionate about the power of Scripture to change lives & had the opportunity to lead various ministries including, Worship Music & Drama, Women’s, College/Career, & Youth & Children’s Ministries. Many people encouraged me to make these “H’Artworks” available to others, so I started my “Art By Heart” business in 2006, leading numerous creative “By Heart” workshops in North Carolina & Georgia. In 2013, I began painting as my career, to include acrylic fine art (& other mediums) inspired by wisdom from scripture to encourage people. My greatest joy comes when one of my art pieces uplifts someone & they share it with others! I
love to learn & use a variety of mediums, styles & palettes. It’s been an honor to be in numerous juried Fine Art shows, judge high school art scholarships, have a solo artist exhibit at Unicoi Resort in Helen, GA, be Artist of the Month at Sawnee Art Assoc. & featured in a Women of Forsyth magazine article as well as display in local galleries & sites. Most recently, my painting "Sawnee in Spring" hung at the Forsyth Co. Courthouse, which was very exciting. I believe artists should be true to their calling of what inspires them & to paint with a purpose! I’m so excited that LPettyArt.com has now partnered with The Art Storefronts Organization as a “Trusted Art Seller” to reach & inspire a wider audience!
